 Buy A Gun Day 2006    [L]

Keeping up proud traditions is hard work.

Then again, how hard is it to get motivated about buying yourself a new gadget?

So, yeah, I joined the Evil Black Rifle club yesterday:

Allow me to introduce the new arrival: It's an AR-15 by bweaponcraft, built on a DPMS platform.

It's got a telescoping stock, detachable handle, railed handguard, foregrip, flashlight, and came with 2 30-round magazines.

Of course, now I must begin the neverending quest for accessories. Perhaps something in red?

I can't wait to take her out, and develop a whole new set of skills. Luckily, I know just the place to start learning.

Actually, I've heard the .223 round it shoots is extremely light on the recoil. Which isn't hard to imagine, considering it's not much bigger than the .22 bullet! It'll probably be around the same as the pistol was, given the weight of the rifle.

Dude, that looks pretty sweet!
My budget will only allow the Hi-Point 9mm carbine. Oh well...
Have fun at the range.
(Definately take the time to teach Lauren!)

You'll love it!

BTW, the bullet is the same width as a .22 LR, but a bit heavier...also, the *cartridge case* that holds all the powder is much bigger; recoil comes from bullet weight and powder capacity. Fortunately, the AR has a spring buffer in the stock that absorbs almost all the recoil. A good muzzle brake can take care of the rest.

Congratulations. I suspect you'll have loads of fun with the AR. Don't sweat the recoil, it's very minimal.
