 Dayton Brand Identity    [L]

I just got this email forwarded to me:
As you may know, The Dayton Development Coalition has spent the better part of a year working with government, industry, and education partners and hundreds of volunteers across twelve counties to create a brand identity for our region. We're doing this so we can tell a true, consistent story about who we are and what we're all about. That way we can celebrate local pride and market our region effectively to businesses, visitors, and anyone looking for a great place to live.

To succeed, this effort needs to accurately reflect our region and the way we feel about it, so we'd like your opinion on the work we've done so far. Based on the results of a large-scale survey of citizens, workers, and community leaders, we've developed a regional brand. The regional brand would be used to represent the whole 12-county, Dayton region.

Please take a few moments to visit the link below before Friday, October 26th and give us the benefit of your opinion. Simply by completing our survey, you can provide invaluable input to help us ensure the Dayton region brand identity is strong, unique, and
compelling. The survey is only fifteen questions and will only take a few minutes.

With your help, we hope to represent the Dayton Region and its citizens well and truly-and work toward a brighter future for all of us.

I think I can come up with some things that "accurately reflect our region and the way we feel about it":

  • Dayton: "We wish we were Cincinnati!"
  • Dayton, Birthplace of Aviation and... well we haven't done much since then.
  • Kitty Hawk may claim "First in Flight", but Dayton is "First in Bank Robberies!"

I'm sure you can come up with much better ones. Do so in the comments

Have you ever heard "My Hometown" by Mark Mothersbaugh? It's about Akron, not Dayton, but your post reminded me of it.
